HISTORY
The seeds for the WFF were planted in 1991 when representatives from 18
women's organizations met in Ottawa to discuss the impact of government
cutbacks on women's programs.
A feasibility study commissioned in 1994 recommended the creation of a
collaborative fundraising initiative with a focus on workplace giving.
The WFF was the result, founded in 1996. After registering as a charity,
the Women's Future Fund launched its first fundraising campaign on
International Women's Day, 2000.
Since that first campaign, our fundraising has increased more than fivefold.
